12/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 11 December, the Council of the European Union approved the payment to Ukraine of a sixth tranche of macro-financial assistance worth €2.3 billion under the ‘Ukraine Facility’. This instalment brings to €27 billion the amounts already disbursed through this €50 billion budgetary instrument for the period 2024-2027. Endorsing the European Commission’s assessment, the Council is of the opinion that the Ukrainian authorities have taken the necessary measures, in return for financial support, in areas such as public finance management, the judicial system (new jurisdiction to hear administrative cases), the management of critical raw materials, the determined national contribution to the implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement and the adoption of a waste management plan for 2033.
