12/12/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 12 December, the European Commission opened a call for proposals in the framework of its ‘Democracy Shield’ (see EUROPE 13750/4) to fund projects up to a maximum of €200,000. The aim is to connect different generations around the theme of media literacy in rural areas. The four projects are to be carried out in the following countries: Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece and Romania. Each project must involve at least two of the three primary demographic groups (0-25, 25-64 and over 64). The first goal is to build trust across generations, considered to be a building block of resilient democracies. The second goal is to train participants in media literacy. The call is open until 6 February 2026, and each project can count on a budget of €50,000. See the dedicated page: https://aeur.eu/f/jz2 (LM)
