COP30 - Wopke Hoekstra champions carbon pricing and CBAM mechanism to international partners

At a European Union press conference during the second week of COP30 in Belém (Brazil), on Monday 17 November, the European Commissioner for Climate, Wopke Hoekstra, championed the Emissions Trading System (ETS) and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) as “essential climate elements” that “go hand in hand”.
