European Commission outlines options for EU to meet Ukraine’s “substantial” budgetary needs for 2026 and 2027

On Monday 17 November, the European Commission presented the Member States with three main options for helping Ukraine, which has been facing military aggression from Russia since February 2022, to meet its “substantial” financial needs, estimated at almost €136 billion (€52.3 billion for budgetary requirements, €83.4 billion for military requirements).
