Tirana opens final set of negotiating chapters and slowly moves closer to EU membership

Albania officially opened its last set of negotiating chapters (‘clusters’), relating to agriculture and cohesion policy, on Monday 17 November, at an intergovernmental conference in Brussels. 

This package includes chapters 11 (agriculture and rural development), 12 (food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary issues), 13 (fisheries and aquaculture), 22 (regional policy and coordination of structural instruments) and 33 (financial and budgetary provisions).
