On Thursday 13 November, a cross-party group of MEPs will table a motion for a resolution on the EU-Mercosur agreement’s compatibility with the EU Treaties (see EUROPE B13744A12, B13716A16). Backed for the moment by more than 140 elected representatives, the draft resolution, if adopted in plenary session, will put the agreement’s ratifying process on hold in European Parliament while the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) gives its opinion on the issues raised.
