12/11/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 11 November, the European Commission announced the release of a further €1 million in humanitarian aid for Sudan as the population tries to flee the ongoing violence in El Fasher. This funding is in addition to the €272 million that the EU has already allocated in 2025 to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by the conflict in Sudan and to Sudanese refugees fleeing to neighbouring countries. These funds will support the immediate scale-up of the emergency response across North Darfur, particularly in Tawila, which already hosts more displaced people than any other region in Sudan. The aid will prioritise the provision of water, hygiene and sanitation services, as well as emergency shelter for people fleeing El Fasher, according to the European Commission. (CG)
