DiscoverEU - to celebrate 40 years of Schengen area, European Commission is giving away 40,000 travel passes to young Europeans

30/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – To mark the 40th anniversary of the Schengen area, the European Commission announced on Thursday 30 October that it was offering 40,000 free travel passes as part of DiscoverEU. This European Union initiative, which is part of the Erasmus+ programme, enables young Europeans to travel around Europe for up to 30 days free of charge. Aimed at young people born in 2007, these tickets will enable them to travel across 36 European countries between 1 March 2026...
