29/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 29 October, the European Union published a single template for promoters of projects involving the extraction, processing or recycling of critical raw materials. This will allow them to apply for strategic project status with the Commission, as permitted by the Critical Raw Materials Act (‘CRMA’). Manufacturers will have to answer dozens of questions describing in detail their project, the raw materials involved, the project’s stage of development, how it contributes to the EU’s supply of critical raw materials, and the measures put in place to prevent negative impacts on the environment or social rights.
