EU denounces ruling party’s request to ban three political parties

29/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 29 October, Anitta Hipper, spokesperson for the European External Action Service, denounced the request by Georgia’s ruling party, Georgian Dream, to the Constitutional Court to ban the three main opposition parties (Coalition for Change, United National Movement and Strong Georgia). According to Ms Hipper, this is another move by Georgian Dream to steer the country away from democracy and, by extension, from its path towards EU membership....
