17/10/2025 (Agence Europe) – The revision of framework directive on food and textile waste came into force on Thursday 16 October. The European Parliament formally adopted the revision of the framework directive on 9 September (see EUROPE 13705/12). The new measures aim to prevent and reduce food and textile waste in the European Union. The revised legislation introduces targets to be achieved at national level by 31 December 2030 at the latest. EU countries will now have 20 months to transpose the rules into their national legislation. Micro-businesses will have an additional 12 months to comply. (FS)
