22/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 19 September, the European Commission launched a call for evidence on ways to strengthen the ‘New European Bauhaus’. The aim of this initiative, launched in 2020, is to enable local communities, which are increasingly impacted by current challenges such as climate change and housing pressures, to lead the transition to a sustainable and inclusive future. The EU has invested €740 million in nearly 700 projects across Europe and beyond, including for the reconstruction of Ukraine. On the basis of the comments received, the Commission plans to adopt a Communication and a proposal for a Council Recommendation in December 2025.
