Danish Presidency of EU Council aiming for agreement on indicative range of emissions reduction between 66.3% and 72.5% by 2035

While no agreement will be reached on the EU’s 2040 climate target at the Environment Council on Thursday 18 September (see EUROPE B13708A1), on Tuesday 16 September, Member States’ ambassadors to the EU (Coreper) discussed the proposal for a ‘statement of intent’ that the EU could present before COP30, in November.
