25/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – The French and German authorities will unveil the content of several sectoral ‘roadmaps’ drawn up jointly on Friday 29 August in Toulon, at the end of a bilateral Ministerial Council. These ‘roadmaps’ will list specific action projects to which Mr Macron and Mr Merz want to give particular impetus in areas such as energy, industry, space and technology. The aim is to give practical expression to the return to the “Franco-German reflex” called for by the two leaders in a joint opinion published in May (see EUROPE 13635/32), and then to make proposals to guide European policies aimed at boosting economic competitiveness. Apart from the ‘roadmaps’, there will be no specific declaration on the Franco-German Ministerial Council. (Original version in French by Mathieu Bion)
