25/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced on 19 August that the 2026 NATO Summit would be held on 7 and 8 July at the Beştepe (Külliye) Presidential Palace in Ankara, Turkey. “At our next Summit, leaders will continue to make NATO a stronger, fairer and more lethal Alliance, in which everyone plays their part and is ready to respond to the critical challenges to our security”, said Mr Rutte in a press release. He explained that Turkey had been “a strong NATO ally for more than 70 years, making invaluable contributions to our shared security”. This will be the second time that Turkey has hosted a NATO summit, following the 2004 meeting in Istanbul. (CG)
