25/08/2025 (Agence Europe) – On 12 August, the European Commission launched a consultation on the Air Services Regulation, which governs access to and operations in the EU’s internal market for aviation. It wants to revise this text, which determines, for example, when and where EU airlines can operate freely and how ticket prices must be displayed to consumers. This consultation is open to citizens, travellers and stakeholders until Tuesday 4 November. On 5 August, the Commission launched another consultation to assess the effectiveness of three pieces of EU legislation governing access to and pricing of airport services. Citizens, professionals and experts are invited to give their views on the rules governing airport charges, slot distribution and ground handling services at airports before Tuesday 28 October.
