On Friday 22 August, the European Commission announced the payment to Ukraine of more than €4 billion as part of two macro-financial assistance packages approved by the European Union.
The Ukrainian authorities have received a tranche of €3.05 billion from the Ukraine Facility. This tranche now brings the total of amounts already disbursed via this €50 billion budgetary instrument over the 2024–2027 period to €22.7 billion.
At the start of August, the Council of the EU officially validated the European Commission’s assessment that the Ukrainian authorities had completed the thirteen reforms required in exchange for financial support, including improved management of public assets, new rules for the digital and agri-food sectors and for the management of critical raw materials.

G7 loans. In addition, the European Commission has paid Kyiv a further €1 billion as part of the preferential loans granted by the G7 countries and pledged against the profits made on assets belonging to the Bank of Russia that are tied up in the EU. This new payment brings the total of aid already disbursed within this framework to €9 billion.
At the start of August, the European Commission announced that it had received the sum of €1.6 billion corresponding to the profits generated since the beginning of 2025 as a result of Russian public assets held in the EU. According to them, 95% of the money raised will go towards the G7 lending mechanism and 5% towards the European Peace Facility. (Original version in French by Mathieu Bion)
