EU Council adopts text on additional aid for Mayotte

23/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 June, the EU Council adopted without debate the proposal (see EUROPE B13636A30) to provide additional aid and flexibility for Mayotte and the outermost regions affected by natural disasters. The updated rules will allow national authorities to make exceptional adjustments to their Programme of Options Specifically Relating to Remoteness and Insularity (POSEI), which provides support for the EU’s outermost regions.
