23/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 23 June, the European Commission launched a public consultation, with a view to developing the EU’s future sustainable tourism strategy. This strategy aims to make tourism more sustainable, more competitive and more innovative, while improving the overall experience for travellers and strengthening the sector’s resilience. It will focus on reducing overcrowding, increasing eco-friendly options, better digital services and smoother cross-border travel. It will also help Member States improve coordination and access to support measures, and strengthen the sector’s resilience to new challenges such as the effects of climate change and geopolitical tensions. The consultation is open to the public, travellers and tourism operators until Friday 12 September. For more information: https://aeur.eu/f/hi3 (AD)
