13/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 12 May, the European Commission launched a call for evidence to gather feedback from stakeholders on the forthcoming revision of the Air Services Regulation, which governs access to and operations within the European Union’s internal aviation market. It covers key areas such as market entry, pricing and operational freedoms, determining when and where EU air carriers can operate freely within the EU. Introduced in 1992, the regulation was last revised in 2008. Several recent assessments have highlighted the need for updates to better support the sector’s green transition and improve its resilience in the face of crises. The call for evidence is open until Monday 9 June. The Commission will also launch a public consultation. For more information: https://aeur.eu/f/gs5 (AD)
