Brussels, 13/05/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 13 May, MEPs on the European Parliament’s Committee on the Environment endorsed (with 66 votes in favour, 15 against, and 6 abstentions) the provisional agreement between the Council of the EU and the European Parliament (see EUROPE 13618/12) on the regulation on preventing plastic pellet losses. The regulation on microplastics aims to improve how plastic pellets are handled at all stages of the supply chain in order to reduce losses to the environment. The European Parliament still has to adopt its position by holding a vote during the plenary session. (Original version in French by Florent Servia)
