Criminalising distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material—European Parliament is ready to negotiate with EU Council

Following the Council of the EU—which approved its mandate in December (see EUROPE B13545A4)—the European Parliament, in turn, made preparations on Tuesday, 13 May, to begin negotiations on the directive criminalising the distribution and possession of child sexual abuse material by adopting the report by Dutch MEP Jeroen Lenaers (EPP) by 57 votes (with no votes against and no abstentions).
