30/04/24 (Agence Europe) – European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Executive Director Florian Guillermet and European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (Eurocontrol) Director General Raúl Medina signed a new Memorandum of Cooperation in Cologne, Germany, on Monday, 29 April. The aim of this protocol is to strengthen their shared commitment to achieving the highest possible levels of safety, efficiency, and sustainability in the European sector. This protocol replaces the one from 2021 and focuses on four new areas: training, cybersecurity, and research and innovation as well as communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS). “We are standing together to fulfil Europe’s environmental ambitions, avoiding any gaps in our approach while ensuring that safety remains our priority”, commented Mr Guillermet in a press release.
