15/04/24 (Agence Europe) – Representatives of European travel and tourism industry associations met in Rhodes, Greece, to sign a declaration pledging decisive action on sustainability on Tuesday 9 April. This joint declaration will serve as a roadmap to foster collaboration and help tourism achieve its objectives. The industry is committed to prioritising decarbonisation, strengthening collaboration and engaging in constructive dialogue with political decision-makers. The representatives made six main commitments: - decarbonisation; - consolidating the commitments approved in the Glasgow and Toulouse declarations; - promoting awareness and responsibility; - supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs); - improving and updating the skills of the workforce; - strengthening collaboration among stakeholders.
