19/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission plans to publish an assessment of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with Canada in the near future. It has opened a call for contributions until 13 April to receive comments on the application of the agreement. The EU wishes to assess the economic, social and environmental impact after five years of provisional application of the trade parts of the agreement. Ten countries have still not ratified the CETA. The French Senate will vote on the agreement on Thursday 21 March. In the event of a positive vote, France will become the 18th country to have ratified it.
