19/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 March in Brussels, the foreign affairs ministers of the European Union adopted conclusions on ‘green’ diplomacy, affirming the EU’s commitment to promoting a fair and inclusive ecological transition. Stressing the urgent need to act in the face of the climate and pollution crises, the Member States point to the environmental damage and security risks caused by Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine. The EU also aims to strengthen mutual understanding and commitments with its international partners to address the link between climate, environment and security. It also pledges to support the development of more ambitious national contributions and to work towards a sustainable future, emphasising in particular the importance of phasing out fossil fuels and boosting renewable energies and energy efficiency.
