19/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European High-Performance Computing Joint Undertaking (EuroHPC JU) announced, on Thursday 14 March, that it had issued a call for tenders for LUMI-Q, a new EuroHPC quantum computer. LUMI-Q will be hosted and operated by the IT4Innovations (IT4I) National Supercomputing Centre in Ostrava (Czech Republic) and will be integrated into the EuroHPC supercomputer called KAROLINA. LUMI-Q will be accessible to a wide range of European users, from the scientific community to industry and the public sector. The total cost of the system will be €7 million. The system will be co-financed by the European Joint Undertaking EuroHPC and the LUMI-Q consortium. The consortium brings together nine European countries: the Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Norway, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
