European Parliament gives green light to ratification of Investment Facilitation Agreement with Luanda

The European Parliament gave its approval for the EU to ratify the Investment Facilitation Agreement with Angola on Wednesday 7 February (488 votes in favour, 39 against and 108 abstentions).

The text’s rapporteur, Joachim Schuster (Renew Europe, German), defended the Agreement, and in particular its provisions on sustainable development, to his colleagues: “This Agreement will improve the investment climate, which until now has often deterred investors“.
