European Parliament deplores deterioration of fundamental rights in Greece, particularly as regards media freedom

On Wednesday 7 February in Strasbourg, MEPs adopted a new resolution on the state of the rule of law in Greece and its hostile environment for the media and journalists.

In a resolution adopted by 330 votes to 254 with 26 abstentions, opposed in particular by the EPP, the party to which Greek Prime Minister Kyriákos Mitsotákis belonged, Parliament also condemned the use of spyware, corruption and the use of force by the police, and called on the European Commission to evaluate the...
