European Commission signs €400 million agreement with Turkey to support recovery following 2023 earthquakes

On Wednesday 7 February, one year after the devastating earthquakes of 6 and 20 February 2023, the European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira, and the Turkish Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mehmet Kemal Bozay, signed a €400 million grant from the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF).

With these funds, Turkey intends to restore infrastructure in the fields of health, education and water and wastewater management, provide temporary accommodation and implement...
