13/11/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 13 November, the EU High Representative, Josep Borrell, announced that the foreign affairs ministers had decided to increase the services and patrols of the EU mission in Armenia in sensitive areas of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and that they would explore possible support for Yerevan via the European Peace Facility or a visa liberalisation option. “We must be extremely vigilant against any attempt to destabilise Armenia. Our message to Azerbaijan is clear: any violation of Armenia’s territorial integrity would be unacceptable and would have severe consequences for the quality of our relations”, he warned. Mr Borrell also announced that the Armenian foreign affairs minister, Ararat Mirzoyan, had been invited to take part in one of the forthcoming ‘Foreign Affairs’ Councils. (CG)
