The European Commission has confirmed the reshuffle of the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), to align it with the ecosystems of industrial strategy, according to a document obtained by EUROPE on Wednesday 10 March.
Thus, the new DG, whose organisation chart was validated on 24 February and should come into force next 16 March, is restructuring itself to better follow the system of 14 ecosystems developed under the impulse of the Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton, we are told. It should be noted that the DG remains under the authority of Kerstin Jorna. The head of the unit dedicated to industrial strategy, Mark Nicklas, has been transferred to the international value chains unit.
