30/04/2020 (Agence Europe) – After a first postponement (see EUROPE 12458/35), the European Commission asked the European Ombudsman, Ms Emily O'Reilly, on Thursday 30 April for a further extension of the deadline for submitting its replies to the inquiry into the European Union's fourth list of 'projects of common interest' (PCI) (see EUROPE 12426/14). Opened on 13 February, Emily O'Reilly's survey aims to determine whether the sustainability and climate impact of energy infrastructure projects on the fourth PCI list had been sufficiently assessed beforehand. Whereas the Commission's replies to the Ombudsman's questions were initially expected by 31 March latest and then by 30 April, the deadline is now set for 29 May. (DG)
