Manolis Kefaloyiannis proposes substantial increase in budget of Just Transition Fund

Greek MEP Manolis Kefaloyiannis (EPP) proposes increasing the budget of the Just Transition Fund to €17.88 billion (2018 prices) instead of the €7.5 billion proposed by the European Commission in its draft report, which was consulted by EUROPE on Thursday 30 April.

For the rapporteur, given that the Fund proposed by the Commission has a much wider scope than what the European Parliament had called for with regards to a Just Energy Transition Fund, it is in his view necessary to have...
