03/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – According to our information, the EU Council is expected to come out in favour, very soon, of a two-month extension of its decision-making deadline for the delegated regulation on the deployment of cooperative intelligent transport systems (C-ITS). This is what emerged from the meeting of the EU Council's working party on intermodal questions and networks on 3 May. In principle, Member States have until 13 May to give, or not give, the green light to this text, which was presented by the Commission on 13 March (see EUROPE 12213/37) and approved by the European Parliament in plenary session last 17 April (see EUROPE 12238/6). This extension should allow the EU Council's legal services to give their opinion on the compatibility of the text with EU law rules. EUROPE will continue to follow this. (LT)
