The debates will focus on the EU's strategic programme for 2019-2024 and its priorities for the coming years: - Union for Employment, Growth and Competitiveness (full exploitation of the internal market; promotion of entrepreneurship and job creation by facilitating access to credit and investment for businesses; preparation of European economies for the future; strengthening the EU's attractiveness for investment; strengthening EMU); - More opportunities and protection for citizens: training and skills development; tax equity; support for transformation and combatting inequalities - Energy Union and combatting climate change: improvement of energy supply and quality; energy security; green energy. - Union for freedom, security and justice: managing migration; combatting terrorism; improved judicial co-operation. -The Union as a global actor: better cohesion and co-ordination in foreign policy; promotion of stability and democracy in neighbouring regions; closer relations with strategic partners; development of the security and defence dimension alongside NATO.
