27/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The European Union has welcomed the "arrest and transfer" to The Hague by Belgrade on 23/24 March of the former Mayor of Prijedor (Bosnia Herzegovina), Mr Milomir Stakic, indicted by the International Criminal War Crimes Tribunal (ICTY). The European Union "appreciates this concrete sign of cooperation by the authorities in Belgrade, as well as some other recent positive developments, and reiterates its call upon all states and entities concerned to fully comply with their obligation to cooperate with the ICTY, and on all persons indicted by the ICTY to voluntarily surrender to the Tribunal".
