27/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Assembly adopted a large number of resolutions on: - the situation in ACP countries or regions (West Africa, Central Africa, South Africa, Comores, Belize, Fiji Islands and Salomon Isles); - flooding in Mozambique; - Cuba's accession to the ACP/EU agreement; - WTO negotiations; - generic medicines; - the future ACP/EU trade agreements; - the Everything But Arms initiative; - racism and xenophobia; - human rights; - and the European Development Fund. The adaptation of the internal regulation to the enlarged functions of the Assembly, which become the Joint Parliamentary Assembly under the Cotonou Agreement, will be approved during the October session in Brussels, as well as the reports on renewable energy sources (rapporteur: Anders Wijkman) and the means for access by ACP countries to global communication (rapporteur: Karin Juncker).
