27/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - Quizzed by journalists in Stockholm about the statement made by the Belgian Finance Minister and Eurogroup President (throughout the whole of 2001), Didier Reynders, that the Euro-zone had to have a specific Euro representative, the French Finance Minister, Laurent Fabius, said that he had a strong belief in Eurogroup, describing it as discreet and efficient. He said that the group had studied Mr Reynder's suggestion but had not considered the case cut and dried. He added that Didier Reynders had agreed that the question needed to be studied in greater detail.
