Brussels, 27/03/2001 (Agence Europe) - The Romanian Mission with the EU announced that Romania, in cooperation with the World Wide Fund for Nature International (WWF) will be organising on 30 April in Bucharest a summit devoted specifically to environment conservation, restoration and sustainable development in the Carapathian region and the Danube river basin. Invitations are being sent to the Heads of State of Germany, Austria, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Slovenia, FRY, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Moldova, as well as to the representatives of international organisations, NGOs and international financial institutions. The organisers envisage the adoption of a joint Declaration stating the goals and guidelines for future measures in favour of the environment in the region.
