End of Chinese quotas will not impact on textile imports from Mediterranean but will weaken Asian imports

Brussels, 03/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - Euro-Mediterranean trade in textiles and clothing currently accounts for 23% of EU clothing and textiles imports, according to the ANIMA business network backed by the EU, commenting that this is unlikely to be affected by the return of imports from China at the start of 2008. ANIMA quotes research by experts like Gildas Minvielle of the French fashion institute IFM who notes that since the start of 2007 there has been a 5% fall in EU clothing imports...
