Brussels, 03/12/2007 (Agence Europe) - GDP in the eurozone rose by 0.7% in the third quarter of 2007, and by 0.8% in the EU27 compared with the previous quarter, when it rose by 0.3% and 0.5% respectively. Compared with the third quarter of 2006, growth stood at 2.7% in the eurozone and 2.9% in the EU27, compared with 2.5% and 2.8% in the previous quarter respectively. In the third quarter of 2007, final household consumption rose by 0.5% in the eurozone and 0.6% in the EU27, and investment rose by 0.9% and 1.1% respectively. Exports grew 2.5% and 2.6% and imports by 2.7% and 2.9%. In the United States, GDP grew 1.2% in the third quarter of 2007, following a 0.9% rise in the second quarter of 2007. In Japan, GDP grew 0.6% following a .04% fall in the previous quarter. Compared with the third quarter of 2006, GDP in the United States grew 2.8% (following a 1.9% rise in the previous quarter) and Japan's GDP by 2.2% (following a 1.5% rise in the previous quarter).
