According to the preliminary iSuppli list for 2007 (US research company specialising in electronics), the US company Intel remains uncontested leaser on the world semi-conductors market, with 12.5% market share, well ahead of Samsung Electronics (7.4%) and Toshiba (4.6%). They are expected to obtain a respective rise in turnover of $34.20bn and $12.5bn in 2007. Intel continues to exceed the semi-conductor market growth rate and reached a growth rate of +7.7%. The international market growth rate for this year is expected to rise by slightly more than 4% to $271bn. Growth rates for Texas Instruments, AMD, Freescale (formerly Motorola) and Qimonda (formerly Infineon) all fell sharply compared to last year. AMD, Intel's main rival is out of the world Top Ten, falling to 11th place (8th last year). Among the 20 main international producers is Sony, which has achieved the most spectacular growth, although its business activity is still relatively modest and stands at an estimated $8bn for 2007.
