Austrian Presidency wants to extend temporary cut-rate VAT measures for five years - No mention of VAT on food served in cafes and restaurants

Brussels, 20/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - Following what was described as an intense round of negotiations, the Austrian Presidency has submitted a new draft deal on cut-rate value added tax (VAT) to the other Member States, suggesting extending until 31 December 2010 the special measures enabling Member States to levy cut-rate VAT on various labour intensive services if they so desired (repairs, renovation of private homes, window-cleaning and cleaning of private homes, home help and...
