MEPs' backing for extradition of former President Fujimori lends support to democratic process in Peru

Strasbourg, 20/01/2006 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday the European Parliament adopted a short joint resolution congratulating Chilean and Peruvian authorities on the effectiveness of their cooperation in the arrest of Alberto Fujimori. The Former Peruvian President (who was in power from 1990 to 2000) had been wanted for human rights violations and corruption.
