Brussels, 02/11/2005 (Agence Europe) - Two French Socialist MEPs, Pervenche Beres and Bernard Poignant, have written to France's finance minister Thierry Breton, asking him to try and get ministers to agree at the 9 November ECOFIN Council that the scheme whereby 9 EU Member States are allowed to apply a reduced rate of VAT, 5.5%, to labour intensive services, which expires on 31 December 2005, to be extended.
