European Research Council wants independent scientific secretary general

Brussels, 24/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - In closing the hearing of the socialist group of the European Parliament on Thursday 20 October on the 7th framework programme for research and development (FPRD), former Commissioner Philippe Busquin, now PSE spokesperson on this subject, reiterated the need to “fight to double the funding” for the next framework programme. He also pointed out the need to intensify research work in areas such as space and security.
