Commission assesses its practices for remedies in mergers and acquisitions

Brussels, 24/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Commission published an internal study on Friday 21 October assessing the effectiveness of the implementation of remedies adopted for mergers. These corrective measures taken by the Commission are designed to resolve competition problems brought about by business mergers and acquisitions.

Based on interviews with economic operators, the study used a representative sample of 96 corrective measures imposed in 40 cases of mergers out of the 227...
