Call from 25 MEPs to put nuclear power back at heart of Union's energy mix to combat climate change

Brussels, 24/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - In the margins of a seminar on the theme "Nuclear power and the challenge of climate change" held on 19 October in Brussels by the European Atomic Forum (Foratom) and chaired by Finnish MEP Eija Riitta Korhola (PPE-DE), a group of 25 MEPs signed a joint declaration calling for a more significant place for nuclear power in the energy mix of the Union in order to combat climate change more effectively.
