Infringement proceedings launched against Hungary over taxation of imported second hand cars

Brussels, 17/10/2005 (Agence Europe) - The Commission has decided to send Hungary a formal request for information concerning the taxation rules that Hungary applies on the registration of second-hand cars brought into Hungary from other EU Member States. The rules are applied in a way that may breach the EC Treaty provisions on equal treatment of domestic products and those of other Member States.
